Huge game by Chemello boosts Fergus over Erin, 7-3

Paolo Chemello was all over the ice for the Fergus Devils, as he tallied two goals and one assist in Fergus' 7-3 win over the Erin Shamrocks.

Chemello's tallies came at 13:04 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Fergus and 16:55 into the second to make the score 4-2 Fergus.

The Devils forced Erin goalie Mark Terry to work between the pipes, taking 41 shots. Fergus outdid its season average for goals scored. The Devils average 3.4 goals per game. The defensemen of Fergus were also effective in the Shamrocks' zone, and came away with two goals.

Fergus additionally got points from Joshua Schafer, who also tallied one goal and two assists and Mikael Ruffini, who also registered two goals and one assist. Fergus also had goals scored by Matthew Clarke and Brock Philips, who scored one goal each. In addition, Fergus received assists from Ben Roelofson, who had two and Brock Heshka, Joey Shaw, and Reese DeBrouwer, who each chipped in one.

Erin put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow the Devils to score on any of their four power plays. The Shamrocks kept Fergus' goalie busy throughout the game, and David Serra made 33 saves on 36 shots.

Erin was led by Josh Tremblay, who racked up one goal and one assist. Tremblay scored 9:05 into the second period to make the score 3-2 Fergus. Jack Ford provided the assist. Erin also got points from Ford, who also had one goal and two assists. Erin also got a goal from Joe Heath as well. More assists for Erin came via Chris Grenier, who had one.

The Devils incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Terry recorded 34 saves for the Shamrocks. Erin incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with two minors.
