In a game where neither team could get a cushion, the Caledon Golden Hawks escaped with a 6-4 victory over the Erin Shamrocks.

Each team kept the other at bay throughout the game, and Alex Palumbo secured the win for Caledon with a goal in the third period.

Christian Bonaldi had two goals and one assist to lead the Golden Hawks. Bonaldi scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 17:52 into the first period to make the score 3-1 Caledon. Caledon had gained a power play chance when Josh Tremblay was whistled for roughing. Cody Forgione assisted on the tally. Bonaldi's next tally on the power play made the score 6-4 Caledon with four seconds left in the third period.

Erin's power play was ineffective against the Golden Hawks' penalty kill, which allowed zero goals while shorthanded.

Caledon was often in penalty trouble, totaling seven minors and one major for 39 minutes in penalty time. The Golden Hawks surpassed its season average of 32.0 penalty minutes per game. Caledon excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in six chances. The Golden Hawks' offense rang up 33 shots on the Shamrocks' net. Erin forced Caledon goalie Sam Procopio to work between the pipes, taking 34 shots. The Shamrocks could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 82 minutes in penalties during the game.

Erin also got points from Mike Nicolucci, who also had one goal and one assist. Erin also had goals scored by James Watson-Bagg and Joe Heath, who each put in one. In addition, Erin received assists from Tyler Topham, who had three and Adam Gibson and Chris Grenier, who contributed one each.

The Golden Hawks' Procopio stopped 30 shots out of the 34 that he faced. Caledon registered two goals on 15 power play opportunities. For the Golden Hawks, Joseph Ruffolo was ejected from the game.
