Penetang boosted by Lauzon's play in net, beats Fergus 4-1Penetang Memorial CC Fri, Oct 03, 2014 Story by Narrative Science.
The Penetang Kings' Jordan Schwartz had a big offensive game, scoring one goal and contributing two assists in his team's 4-1 win over the Fergus Devils. Schwartz got on the board by slotting home a goal 2:15 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Penetang. Hayden Cole provided the assist. Schwartz dished an assist on Kyle Burns's goal that made the score 2-1 Penetang at 1:39 into the second period. He added another helper on Brandon Frandsen's goal that made the score 4-1 Penetang at 7:23 into the third period.Penetang's penalty kill excelled, as the Kings gave up zero goals despite allowing six power plays. Penetang stifled Fergus' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Penetang also got points from Craig Robinson, who also registered one goal and one assist. In addition, Penetang received assists from Nate Archer, Matt Meher, and David Pearce, who contributed one each. The Devils' offense rang up 35 shots on the Kings' net. Fergus was led by Brock Heshka, who scored the team's only goal. Heshka scored 14:34 into the first period to make the score 1-1. James McHugh picked up the assist. Martin Lauzon made 34 saves for Penetang on 35 shots. The Kings incurred 30 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Alex Elliott recorded 24 saves for the Devils. Fergus incurred 28 minutes in penalty time with four minors.
