The Fergus Devils used a three-goal second period to put away the Orillia Terriers, 6-2.

Fergus got the win on the strength of a great game by BROCK HESHKA, who had one goal and two assists. HESHKA scored on the power play 9:12 into the first period to make the score 1-1. The Devils had gotten the advantage when Orillia's Nathan Beers was sent off for butt-ending. Ben Roelofson assisted on the tally.

Fergus' penalty kill excelled, as the Devils gave up one goal despite allowing eight power plays.

The Terriers were unable to stop Fergus from sending pucks towards the net, and the Devils eventually piled up 31 shots on goal. Fergus' goal total was higher than its season average. The Devils' defensemen played an important role in the offense, chipping in two goals.

In addition, Orillia received assists from Tyler Simmons, who had one.

Fergus' David Serra stopped 35 shots out of the 37 that he faced. The Devils incurred 28 minutes in penalty time with four minors. Fergus ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Mike Traves was ejected from the game. Noah Leis rejected 25 shots on goal for the Terriers. Orillia incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with five minors. For the Terriers, Jason Stone was ejected from the game.
