Archer nets hat trick, leads Penetang to 5-3 win over Alliston

A hat trick by Nate Archer was the highlight in Kings' 5-3 win against the Alliston Hornets.

Archer got on the scoresheet 3:30 into the first period. He then added goals at 5:50 into the second and at 19:08 into the second.

The Penetang Kings led by three goals at one point and ended with the victory. The largest advantage in the game came when Penetang's Jordan Schwartz scored on the power play at 4:27 in the third period to put the Kings up 4-1.

Penetang additionally got points from Craig Robinson, who also registered one goal and one assist. Other players who recorded assists for Penetang were Kyle Burns and Matt Meher, who contributed one each and Jessey Moreau and David Pearce, who each chipped in two.

Alliston's offense operated below its season average. The Hornets average 5.3 goals per game. Alliston's normally stingy defense allowed more goals than usual. The Hornets give up 1.7 goal per game.

Alliston was helped by Mark ODonnell, who racked up one goal. ODonnell scored on the power play 18:36 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Penetang. The Hornets had gotten the advantage when Penetang's Ryan Hackett was sent off for holding. Gianluca Pallotta picked up the assist. Alliston also had goals scored by Steve Griggs and Jacob Tuck, who scored one goal each. In addition, Alliston received assists from Ryan Lewis, Nic Archibald, and Matt Hamilton, who contributed one each.

The Kings' Adam Redgate stopped 16 shots out of the 19 that he faced. Penetang incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. TJ Sherwood recorded 19 saves for Alliston. The Hornets incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
