Penetang holds on for 5-4 win against Huntsville

The Huntsville Otters tried to dig themselves out of a three-goal hole, but the Penetang Kings held on for a 5-4 victory.

A goal by Craig Robinson put Penetang up 5-2 in the third period, but Huntsville pulled to within one on Jay Dix's tally 17:43 into the third period.

The Kings got the win thanks to a great game by Hayden Cole, who had one goal and two assists. Cole scored 17:09 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Penetang. Dan Hogan picked up the assist.

Penetang kept the Otters' goalie busy throughout the game, and Connor Christianson made 39 saves on 44 shots.

Penetang additionally got points from Matt Meher, who also finished with one goal and one assist, Jessey Moreau, who also had one goal and one assist, and Robinson, who also registered one goal and one assist. Penetang also got a goal from Nate Archer as well. Other players who recorded assists for Penetang were Kyle Burns and Brayden Laurin, who contributed one each.

The Kings were unable to stop Huntsville from sending pucks towards the net, and the Otters eventually piled up 32 shots on goal. Huntsville struggled to stay out of the sin bin throughout the game as it finished the game with 26 penalty minutes for seven opposing power plays.

The Otters were helped by Brendan Fitter, who racked up one goal. Fitter scored on the power play 4:49 into the third period to make the score 3-2 Penetang. Huntsville had gained a power play chance when Cole was whistled for roughing. Evan Lade assisted on the tally. Huntsville also got points from Dix, who also finished with one goal and one assist and Lade, who also tallied one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Evan Wilding also scored for Huntsville. In addition, Huntsville received assists from Myles Bissonette, who had one and Elliott Lade, who had two.

Adam Redgate rejected 28 shots on goal for Penetang. The Kings incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with six minors. The Otters registered two goals on eight power play opportunities. Huntsville ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Jake McIntyre was ejected from the game.
