Paul Baranzelli scored the clinching goal in a shootout, and Sydney Ice Dogs picked up the extra point in a 4-3 win over Melbourne Mustangs.

Sydney Ice Dogs overcame a one-goal deficit to capture the victory. Sydney Ice Dogs was down 3-2 after a goal by Melbourne Mustangs' Brendan McDowell at 3:34 in the third period. Sydney Ice Dogs tied things up at 3-3 on a goal by Simon Barg at 4:07 in the third period.

The 26 shots that Sydney Ice Dogs put on net surpassed Sydney Ice Dogs' average of 4.0 shots per game this season.

Sydney Ice Dogs also got a goal from Brian Funes as well. In addition, Sydney Ice Dogs received assists from John Clewlow, who had two and Patrick Ward, Robert Malloy, and Mitch Bye, who each chipped in one.
