Newcastle North Stars survives Sydney Ice Dogs comeback, wins 5-3

Sydney Ice Dogs tried its best to erase a three-goal deficit, but Newcastle North Stars would not be denied the victory and hung on to win, 5-3.

Newcastle North Stars made the score 5-2 on a goal by John Kennedy at 8:22 in the third period, and Sydney Ice Dogs got as close as 5-3 when Dave Dunwoodie scored 12:56 into the third period.

Newcastle North Stars got the win on the strength of a great game by Chris Wilson, who had one goal and four assists. Wilson scored 1:03 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Newcastle North Stars. Beau Taylor picked up the assist.
