Aquin's goals lift Dundas to 4-2 victory over Glanbrook

Niagara Jr. C Head Office    Thu, Jan 08, 2015

The Dundas Blues relied on the scoring touch of Alex Aquin, who netted four goals, to beat the Glanbrook Rangers, 4-2.

Aquin notched his first tally 6:38 into the first period. He then added goals at 2:15 into the second, at 17:29 into the second, and at 19:14 into the third.

Dundas pulled out the victory even though it was hit with 40 penalty minutes.

In addition, Dundas received assists from Dan Pelosini, who had two, Mitch Moriarity, who had three, and Jake Bain, Cam McConnell, and Brock Novak, who each chipped in one.

Glanbrook put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow the Blues to score on any of their four power plays. The Rangers did not reach the goal total they have come to expect this season. Glanbrook puts an average of 4.2 pucks into the net per game. The Rangers kept Dundas' goalie busy throughout the game, and Novak made 45 saves on 47 shots.

Glanbrook was helped by Cole Anderson, who registered one goal. Anderson scored 6:43 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Brad Parish also scored for Glanbrook. Other players who recorded assists for Glanbrook were Garnet Batrynchuk and Owen Norton, who contributed one each.

The Rangers' Jay Payton stopped 24 shots out of the 27 that he faced. Glanbrook incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
