The Grimsby Peach Kings survived a determined comeback attempt by the Glanbrook Rangers on the way to a 6-5 win. Grimsby made the score 5-3 on a goal by Michael Konkle at 14:10 in the second period, and Glanbrook got as close as 5-4 when Brad Parish scored 1:06 into the third period. Konkle had a great game for the Peach Kings, netting two goals. Grimsby forced Rangers' goaltenders to work all game long, getting 33 shots and forcing 27 saves. Jay Payton made 15 stops and Matthew Venturelli made 12. The Peach Kings found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season. This season, Grimsby averages 3.7 goals per contest. The Peach Kings' defense let in more goals than it usually has this year. Grimsby gives up 2.4 goals per game. Grimsby also had goals scored by Eric Cerino, Andrew McMurtrie, Garnet McComber, and Brennan Smith, who scored one goal each. In addition, Grimsby received assists from Jeromy Hopkins, who had two and Trevor McEneny, Steven Polich, Matthew Jambrosich, Curtis Conrad, Griffin Roubos, and Curtis Jacques, who each chipped in one. The Rangers were helped by Spencer Leenders, who finished with one goal and one assist. Leenders scored 13:49 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Glanbrook. Josh Pace provided the assist. Glanbrook also got points from Pace, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Glanbrook included Kyle Dumais and Malcom Toman, who each put in one. More assists for Glanbrook came via Curtis Edwards, who had two and Jeff May and Cameron Frail, who contributed one each. Jeremy Currie recorded 16 saves for the Peach Kings. Grimsby incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Glanbrook incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with six minors. For the Rangers, Toman was ejected from the game.
