Sydney Ice Dogs survives Perth Thunder comeback, wins 5-3Liverpool Catholic Club Sun, Jul 20, 2014 Perth Thunder tried to dig itself out of a three-goal hole, but Sydney Ice Dogs held on for a 5-3 victory. Sydney Ice Dogs took a 5-2 lead during the third period, only to have Perth Thunder storm back on a Andrew Cox goal 19:31 into the third period to pull to two goals down. Sydney Ice Dogs got the win thanks to a great game by John Clewlow, who had two goals and two assists. Clewlow scored the first of his two goals at 7:31 into the first period to make the score 3-0 Sydney Ice Dogs. Simon Barg assisted on the tally. Clewlow's next tally made the score 4-2 Sydney Ice Dogs with 6:55 left in the third period. Barg picked up the assist. Sydney Ice Dogs' defensemen played an important role in the offense, chipping in two goals.
