Adelaide Adrenaline vanquishes Sydney Ice Dogs in shootout, 3-2

Josef Rezek scored the clinching goal in a shootout, and Adelaide Adrenaline picked up the extra point in a 3-2 win over Sydney Ice Dogs.

The two teams needed five turns to complete the shootout. In addition to the clincher, Adelaide Adrenaline got a shootout goal from Rezek.

Adelaide Adrenaline's offense was clicking better than usual and put 29 shots on goal during the game, better than the 2.3 shots per game it averages.

Adelaide Adrenaline was helped by Darren Corstens, who registered one goal. Corstens scored 13:28 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Adelaide Adrenaline. Sean Greer picked up the assist. Adelaide Adrenaline also got a goal from Greg Oddy as well. Other players who recorded assists for Adelaide Adrenaline were Niko Suoraniem, Rezek, and Brett Liscomb, who each chipped in one.

Sydney Ice Dogs excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances. Sydney Ice Dogs was held below its usual level of production.
