Pursuit of Excellence 18U survives St. Louis Selects 18U comeback, wins 4-3

Pursuit of Excellence 18U survived a determined comeback attempt by St. Louis Selects 18U on the way to a 4-3 win.

Pursuit of Excellence 18U made the score 4-2 on a goal by Mitchell Zambon at 9:40 in the third period, and St. Louis Selects 18U got as close as 4-3 when Charlie Corbett scored 13:50 into the third period.

Pursuit of Excellence 18U forced St. Louis Selects 18U goalie Zach Young to work between the pipes, taking 34 shots.

Pursuit of Excellence 18U was led by Dallas Comeau, who grabbed two goals. Comeau scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 3:05 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Pursuit of Excellence 18U. Pursuit of Excellence 18U had gained a power play chance when Jordan Bratton was whistled for roughing. Jarod Hovde picked up the assist. Comeau's next tally on the power play made the score 3-2 Pursuit of Excellence 18U with 13:39 left in the third period. Hovde provided the assist. Pursuit of Excellence 18U also got a goal from Brett Piper as well. In addition, Pursuit of Excellence 18U received assists from Brendan Lane, who had two and Jackson Caller and Thomas Goldade, who each chipped in one.

St. Louis Selects 18U kept Pursuit of Excellence 18U's goalie busy throughout the game, and Colten Lancaster made 28 saves on 31 shots. Team's forwards weren't the only contributers offensively, and the team's defensemen showcased their scoring touch with two goals.

St. Louis Selects 18U also got points from Brycon Johnson, who also had one goal and one assist. More assists for St. Louis Selects 18U came via John Moeller, Austin Junger, and Shane Quinn, who contributed one each.

Pursuit of Excellence 18U incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. St. Louis Selects 18U's Young stopped 30 shots out of the 34 that he faced. St. Louis Selects 18U incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with three minors.
