Omaha AAA 18U penalty kill dominates in 4-1 defeat of Anaheim Jr. Ducks 18U

Anaheim Jr. Ducks 18U failed to take advantage of its power play opportunities and Omaha AAA 18U shook off a number of penalties to win, 4-1.

Omaha AAA 18U was led by Jarett Mari, who had one goal. Mari scored on the power play 6:28 into the second period to make the score 2-0 Omaha AAA 18U. Omaha AAA 18U earned a power play opportunity when Evan Nyhus was put in the box for interference. TJ Polglaze assisted on the tally.

Jack LeBlanc also scored for Omaha AAA 18U. In addition, Omaha AAA 18U received assists from Matt Nehls, Albert Tsygurov, Matt Christian, Zach Kramer, and Jacob Loman, who each chipped in one.

Anaheim Jr. Ducks 18U found itself short handed often, totaling 28 penalty minutes and allowing seven power plays.

Anaheim Jr. Ducks 18U was led by Paul Boutoussov, who scored the team's only goal. Boutoussov scored on the power play 6:31 into the third period to make the score 3-1 Omaha AAA 18U. Anaheim Jr. Ducks 18U had gotten the advantage when Omaha AAA 18U's Polglaze was sent off for checking from behind. Bryce Hunt picked up the assist.

Lucas Van Dyke made 23 saves for Omaha AAA 18U on 24 shots. Omaha AAA 18U incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Sean Lincoln recorded 25 saves for Anaheim Jr. Ducks 18U. Anaheim Jr. Ducks 18U registered one goal on six power play opportunities.
