Madison Capitols 18U rides Grounds to victory over Philadelphia Little Flyers 18U, 2-1

A stellar performance between the pipes by Tim Grounds helped Madison Capitols 18U defeat Philadelphia Little Flyers 18U, 2-1.

Madison Capitols 18U pulled out the victory even though it was hit with 23 penalty minutes.

Madison Capitols 18U was sparked by Chase Mickleson, who registered one goal. Mickleson scored on the power play 10:31 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Madison Capitols 18U. A cross checking penalty on Tyler Pietrowski had put Madison Capitols 18U on the power play. Tyler Berndt assisted on the tally.

Madison Capitols 18U stifled Philadelphia Little Flyers 18U's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Madison Capitols 18U forced Philadelphia Little Flyers 18U goalie Gennaro Anzevino to work between the pipes, taking 39 shots.

Kasey Fitzjerrels also scored for Madison Capitols 18U. More assists for Madison Capitols 18U came via Austin Redders and Brendon Gysbers, who each chipped in one.
