Lansing Capitals 18U outlasts California Titans 18U, 4-2

Lansing Capitals 18U gutted out a close 4-2 win against California Titans 18U.

Lansing Capitals 18U gained the winning advantage on a goal by Keegan Weckesser 9:24 into the third period and hung on until final buzzer.

Caleb Wortz had two goals to lead Lansing Capitals 18U to victory. Wortz found the back of the net on the power play 15:45 into the second period to make the score 2-0 Lansing Capitals 18U and again while 14:43 into the third to make the score 4-2 Lansing Capitals 18U.

Lansing Capitals 18U excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances. Lansing Capitals 18U kept California Titans 18U's goalie busy throughout the game, and Nicholas Nast made 32 saves on 36 shots. Lansing Capitals 18U got an offensive boost from its blueliners, who contributed two goals during the game.

Lansing Capitals 18U also got a goal from Wyatt Beard as well. More assists for Lansing Capitals 18U came via Cam Collin, Kieran Durgan, Ethan Stutzman, Alex Counseller, and Caleb Hite, who contributed one each.

Connor Nilson also scored for California Titans 18U. In addition, California Titans 18U received assists from Nicholas Bortolotto, Dylan Miller, and Eduard Kuznetsov, who each chipped in one.
