Lansing Capitals 18U overcame a one-goal deficit to capture the victory. Lansing Capitals 18U trailed 1-0 after a power play goal by West Michigan Hounds 18U's Kyle Prendel at 6:14 in the first period. Lansing Capitals 18U tied things up at 1-1 on a goal by Durgan at 3:24 in the third period.

West Michigan Hounds 18U put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Lansing Capitals 18U to score on any of its seven power plays.
