Bowes' big game bests Everett Jr. Silvertips 16U in 7-4 Pursuit of Excellence 16U win

Pursuit of Excellence 16U's Cassidy Bowes had a big offensive game, scoring two goals and contributing one assist in his team's 7-4 win over Everett Jr. Silvertips 16U.

Bowes found the back of the net 13:16 into the first period to make the score 2-2 and again while 14:35 into the second to make the score 5-3 Pursuit of Excellence 16U.

Pursuit of Excellence 16U pulled out the victory even though it was hit with 16 penalty minutes.

Pursuit of Excellence 16U forced Everett Jr. Silvertips 16U goalie Jason Pichette to work between the pipes, taking 38 shots. Pursuit of Excellence 16U outdid its season average for goals scored. Pursuit of Excellence 16U averages 3.7 goals per game.

Others who scored for Pursuit of Excellence 16U included Aiden Buhler, who had two and Matthew Kowalski, Bryson Cecconi, and Cayden Kraus, who scored one goal each. In addition, Pursuit of Excellence 16U received assists from Kaleb Comishin and Oleg Senko, who contributed one each.

Everett Jr. Silvertips 16U kept Pursuit of Excellence 16U's goalie busy throughout the game, and Keaton Dyck made 27 saves on 31 shots. Everett Jr. Silvertips 16U struggled to stay out of the sin bin throughout the game as it finished the game with 28 penalty minutes for nine opposing power plays.

Everett Jr. Silvertips 16U was led by Brendan Weir, who had two goals. Weir scored the first of his two goals at 4:32 into the second period to make the score 3-3. Carter Wade picked up the assist. Weir's next tally made the score 6-4 Pursuit of Excellence 16U with 12:09 left in the third period. Everett Jr. Silvertips 16U played down a man on Wyatte Wylie's roughing. Everett Jr. Silvertips 16U also got points from Wade, who also tallied one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Bradley Estrada also scored for Everett Jr. Silvertips 16U. Other players who recorded assists for Everett Jr. Silvertips 16U were Sean Mallonee, Brendan Studioso, and Trail Thompson, who each chipped in one.

Jason Pichette made 31 saves for Everett Jr. Silvertips 16U on 38 shots. Everett Jr. Silvertips 16U registered one goal on seven power play opportunities.
