Pursuit of Excellence 16U holds on for 3-1 win against California Titans 16U

California Titans 16U tried to dig itself out of a three-goal hole, but Pursuit of Excellence 16U held on for a 3-1 victory.

Pursuit of Excellence 16U took a 3-0 lead during the third period, only to have California Titans 16U storm back on a Dylan Denton goal 14:45 into the third period to pull to two goals down.

Pursuit of Excellence 16U was led by goalie Logan Larock, who finished with 29 saves while allowing one goal. Larock certainly lowered his goals against average, which was 3.21 entering the contest.

Pursuit of Excellence 16U stifled California Titans 16U's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. California Titans 16U was unable to stop Pursuit of Excellence 16U from sending pucks towards the net, and Pursuit of Excellence 16U eventually piled up 32 shots on goal.

Pursuit of Excellence 16U was helped by Alec Zawatsky, who had one goal. Zawatsky scored 5:53 into the third period to make the score 2-0 Pursuit of Excellence 16U. Matthew Kowalski assisted on the tally. Pursuit of Excellence 16U also got a goal from Cassidy Bowes as well. In addition, Pursuit of Excellence 16U received assists from Tyson Terretta, Bryson Cecconi, and Cayden Kraus, who contributed one each.

California Titans 16U's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on four Pursuit of Excellence 16U power plays.
