Green Bay Jr. Gamblers 16U vanquishes California Titans 16U in shootout, 3-2

Three periods of regulation and an overtime session were not enough to settle matters as Green Bay Jr. Gamblers 16U defeated California Titans 16U in a shootout 3-2.

The shootout featured nine attempts between both teams.

Green Bay Jr. Gamblers 16U pulled out the victory even though it was hit with 28 penalty minutes.

Green Bay Jr. Gamblers 16U kept California Titans 16U's goalie busy throughout the game, and Veeti Haapasalo made 41 saves on 44 shots.

Green Bay Jr. Gamblers 16U was helped by Joe Murvich, who racked up one goal. Murvich scored short handed 2:19 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Green Bay Jr. Gamblers 16U. Green Bay Jr. Gamblers 16U was on a disadvantage when Logan Domagala went off the ice for hooking. Green Bay Jr. Gamblers 16U also got a goal from Lucas McKinnon as well. In addition, Green Bay Jr. Gamblers 16U received assists from Dante Zapata, who had one.

California Titans 16U excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances.

California Titans 16U was helped by Austin Hanson, who tallied one goal. Hanson scored on the power play 14:36 into the first period to make the score 1-1. California Titans 16U had gained a power play chance when McKinnon was whistled for roughing. Daylon Mannon provided the assist. Trent Cowden also scored for California Titans 16U. More assists for California Titans 16U came via Troy Robertson, who had one.

Jack Austin made 20 saves for Green Bay Jr. Gamblers 16U on 22 shots. California Titans 16U incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
