Lansing Capitals 16U squeaks by St. Louis Selects 16U, 5-3

The game between Lansing Capitals 16U and St. Louis Selects 16U was tight through all 60 minutes, but in the end Lansing Capitals 16U emerged with a 5-3 win.

No lead was more than two goals during the contest, and the winning goal was scored by Ryan Hein at 14:27 of the third period.

Lansing Capitals 16U got the win with help from a great game by Hein, who had two goals and one assist. Hein scored the first of his two goals at 5:15 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Reagan Wortz picked up the assist. Hein's next tally made the score 4-3 Lansing Capitals 16U with 5:33 left in the third period. Wortz assisted on the tally.

Lansing Capitals 16U excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in five chances. Lansing Capitals 16U kept St. Louis Selects 16U's goalie busy throughout the game, and John Massara made 32 saves on 37 shots.

Lansing Capitals 16U additionally got points from Luke Cornell, who also finished with one goal and one assist and Riley Hestwood, who also registered one goal and one assist. Lansing Capitals 16U also got a goal from Zack Olen as well. More assists for Lansing Capitals 16U came via Jacob Stallings and Joseph Ullstrom, who contributed two each.
