California Titans 16U overcame a two-goal deficit to capture the victory. California Titans 16U trailed 2-0 after a goal by MNEPDL Gray 16U's Zach Levandowski at 2:44 in the third period. California Titans 16U tied things up at 2-2 on a goal by Troy Robertson at 8:48 in the third period.

California Titans 16U's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on four MNEPDL Gray 16U power plays.

Johnson also scored for California Titans 16U. Other players who recorded assists for California Titans 16U were Dylan Denton, Jake Mandel, and Michael Andrews, who contributed one each.

MNEPDL Gray 16U excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances. California Titans 16U was unable to stop MNEPDL Gray 16U from sending pucks towards the net, and MNEPDL Gray 16U eventually piled up 38 shots on goal.
