St. Louis Selects 16U vanquishes Pikes Peak Miners 16U in shootout, 3-2

Three periods of regulation and an overtime session were not enough to settle matters as St. Louis Selects 16U defeated Pikes Peak Miners 16U in a shootout 3-2.

The shootout featured 26 attempts between both teams. Pikes Peak Miners 16U's shootout goals were scored by Ethan Daniels, Ross Hanson, and Griffen Medina. St. Louis Selects 16U also got shootout goals from Andy Willis, Cory Robinson, and Ricky Smith.

St. Louis Selects 16U overcame a two-goal deficit to capture the victory. St. Louis Selects 16U trailed 2-0 after a goal by Pikes Peak Miners 16U's Hanson at 9:03 in the second period. St. Louis Selects 16U tied things up at 2-2 on a goal by Willis at 16:43 in the third period.

St. Louis Selects 16U excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in five chances.
