Everett Jr. Silvertips 16U hangs on, beats San Jose Jr. Sharks 16U 3-1

Wyatte Wylie scored the go-ahead goal in the first period, and Everett Jr. Silvertips 16U held off the challenges of San Jose Jr. Sharks 16U in a tough 3-1 win.

Everett Jr. Silvertips 16U took over the lead for good with a goal by Wylie at 6:22 in the first period. Chase Freeman assisted on the tally.

San Jose Jr. Sharks 16U's power play was ineffective against Everett Jr. Silvertips 16U's penalty kill, which allowed zero goals while shorthanded.

Everett Jr. Silvertips 16U was paced by Will Connors, who grabbed one goal. Connors scored 4:43 into the second period to make the score 2-0 Everett Jr. Silvertips 16U. Wylie picked up the assist.

Everett Jr. Silvertips 16U put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow San Jose Jr. Sharks 16U to score on any of its six power plays. San Jose Jr. Sharks 16U's defense shut down Everett Jr. Silvertips 16U's forwards for much of the game, and Everett Jr. Silvertips 16U got off only 12 shots during the contest.

San Jose Jr. Sharks 16U found itself stymied offensively, and got off a mere 11 shots against Everett Jr. Silvertips 16U's defense.

San Jose Jr. Sharks 16U was led by Evan Pace, who scored the team's only goal. Pace scored 8:55 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Everett Jr. Silvertips 16U. Evan Rittenhouse assisted on the tally.

Domenic Bosetti recorded 10 saves for Everett Jr. Silvertips 16U. Everett Jr. Silvertips 16U incurred 28 minutes in penalty time with four minors. San Jose Jr. Sharks 16U's starting goalie, Jake Acton, made four saves and finished with the loss before he was taken out in favor of Noel Zuccaro, who stopped five shots. San Jose Jr. Sharks 16U incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
