St. Louis Selects 16U beats Arizona Bobcats 16U 4-3 after comeback scare

Arizona Bobcats 16U tried to dig itself out of a two-goal hole, but St. Louis Selects 16U held on for a 4-3 victory.

St. Louis Selects 16U took a 4-2 lead during the third period, only to have Arizona Bobcats 16U storm back on a Landon Quinney goal 15:20 into the third period to pull to one goal down.

Ricky Smith was all over the ice for St. Louis Selects 16U, as he racked up two goals in the win. Smith scored at 2:31 into the first period to make the score 1-0 St. Louis Selects 16U and again while on the power play 14:18 into the second to make the score 3-2 St. Louis Selects 16U.

St. Louis Selects 16U struggled to stay out of the sin bin throughout the game as it finished the game with 40 penalty minutes for eight opposing power plays.

St. Louis Selects 16U also got points from Andy Willis, who also finished with one goal and one assist. St. Louis Selects 16U also got a goal from Zachary Fizer as well. More assists for St. Louis Selects 16U came via Evgeniy Shomin, who had two and Cory Robinson, Clayton Dawe, Justin Meers, and Christian Dahl, who contributed one each.

St. Louis Selects 16U was unable to stop Arizona Bobcats 16U from sending pucks towards the net, and Arizona Bobcats 16U eventually piled up 32 shots on goal. Arizona Bobcats 16U could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 36 minutes in penalties during the game.
