San Jose Jr. Sharks 16U uses shootout to best Madison Capitols 16U, 3-2

Three periods of regulation and an overtime session were not enough to settle matters as San Jose Jr. Sharks 16U defeated Madison Capitols 16U in a shootout 3-2.

The shootout lasted for one attempts between the teams.

San Jose Jr. Sharks 16U came back from a one-goal deficit to capture the victory. San Jose Jr. Sharks 16U fell behind 2-1 after a power play goal by Madison Capitols 16U's Blake Nelson at 15:59 in the second period. San Jose Jr. Sharks 16U knotted things up at 2-2 on a goal by Sam Jenkins at 16:49 in the third period.

San Jose Jr. Sharks 16U did not challenge the opposing netminder, only getting 13 shots on net to force 10 saves.

San Jose Jr. Sharks 16U was helped by Collin Tripp, who tallied one goal. Tripp scored 11:11 into the first period to make the score 1-0 San Jose Jr. Sharks 16U. Mark Gaynor assisted on the tally.
