CYA 16U shrugs off penalties, upends Esmark Stars 16U, 2-0

Despite having to fight off several power plays, CYA 16U was able to defeat Esmark Stars 16U, 2-0.

CYA 16U was led by Nick Chirillo, who grabbed one goal. Chirillo scored short handed 14:13 into the second period to make the score 1-0 CYA 16U. A tripping call on Kilian Hammersmith put CYA 16U on the penalty kill. Kevin Kastholm picked up the assist.

CYA 16U excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in seven chances. CYA 16U's defensive play was more effective than usual against Esmark Stars 16U. CYA 16U averages 2.8 goals allowed per game.
