Chicago Mission 16U had a three-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 5-0 win over San Jose Jr. Sharks 16U.

Chicago Mission 16U pulled out the victory even though it was hit with 20 penalty minutes.

Chicago Mission 16U was led by Dominick Mersch, who grabbed one goal and one assist. Mersch scored 9:01 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Chicago Mission 16U. Nicholas Nardella assisted on the tally.

Chicago Mission 16U put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow San Jose Jr. Sharks 16U to score on any of its six power plays. San Jose Jr. Sharks 16U found itself stymied offensively, and got off a mere eight shots against Chicago Mission 16U's defense.
