Trapp leads La Crosse over St. Louis, 5-0

Behind a great game by Taylor Trapp, who had two goals and two assists, the La Crosse Freeze defeated the St. Louis Jr. Blues, 5-0.

Trapp found the back of the net 1:14 into the first period to make the score 1-0 La Crosse and again while on the power play 10:58 into the second to make the score 5-0 La Crosse.

La Crosse forced St. Louis' goaltenders to work all game long, taking 53 shots and forcing 48 saves. Quinton Reynolds made 12 stops and Cooper Cothran made 36. The Freeze excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances.

La Crosse also got points from Daniel Toycen, who also finished with one goal and two assists. La Crosse also had goals scored by Jake Lipski and Chong Hyun Lee, who scored one goal each. Other players who recorded assists for La Crosse were Luke Bing, Hunter Dragosh, and Hunter Smith, who each chipped in one.

The Jr. Blues did not reach the goal total they have come to expect this season. St. Louis averages 2.8 goals per game.

Andrew Wagner rejected 20 shots on goal for La Crosse. The Freeze incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. The Jr. Blues incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors.
