Cincinnati downs Cleveland in overtime, 4-3 (OT)

Brenden Williams gave the Cincinnati Swords a 4-3 (OT) victory over the Cleveland Jr. Lumberjacks when he scored 3:48 into the extra period.

Cincinnati overcame a three-goal deficit to capture the victory. The Swords fell behind 3-0 after a goal by Cleveland's Branden Walsh at 1:46 in the second period. Cincinnati tied things up at 3-3 on a goal by Alex Olson at 9:49 in the third period.

Olson and Williams provided the spark for the Swords, combining for three goals and two assists. Olson tallied two goals and Williams also added one goal and two assists.

Cincinnati also got points from Williams, who also finished with one goal and two assists to lead the team in points. Hunter Schneider also scored for Cincinnati. More assists for Cincinnati came via Oliver Ahlberg, who had two and Tyler Klutch, Blake Hinds, and Gennadi Zabeline, who each chipped in one.

The Jr. Lumberjacks stifled Cincinnati's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man.

Cleveland was led by Vince Nero, who registered two goals. Nero scored the first of his two goals at 2:52 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Cleveland. Nathaniel Schwartz assisted on the tally. Nero's next tally made the score 2-0 Cleveland with 5:11 left in the first period. Zach Thibault picked up the assist. In addition, Cleveland received assists from Adam Schaffer, AJ Bogdan, Tyler Dalton, and John Barlow, who contributed one each.

The Swords' Brandon Kruger stopped 25 shots out of the 28 that he faced. Cincinnati incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Sam Pikus rejected 23 shots on goal for the Jr. Lumberjacks. Cleveland incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
