The Bozeman Icedogs were firing on all cylinders against the Yellowstone Quake, and when the final buzzer sounded Icedogs emerged with a 4-1 win. Gunnar Mogck was all over the ice for Bozeman, as he tallied two goals and one assist in the win. Mogck scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 14:29 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Bozeman. The Icedogs had gained a power play chance when Nick Ligocki was whistled for hooking. Devin Panzeca picked up the assist. Mogck's next tally on the power play made the score 3-0 Bozeman with 12:42 left in the third period. Bozeman earned a power play opportunity when Taylor Garner was put in the box for head contact. Ryan Erickson provided the assist. The Icedogs' Denijs Romanovskis was a brick wall in net, as he came up with 46 saves and let only one puck past him. The solid play of Romanovskis will be reflected in his goals against average, which pre-game was 3.13. Bozeman's penalty box was a popular destination as the team totaled eight minors and one major for 31 minutes in penalty time. The total exceeded the 21.0 minutes per game the Icedogs had been spending in the box. Bozeman stifled Yellowstone's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Icedogs' offense rang up 32 shots on the Quake's net. Bozeman additionally got points from Panzeca, who also had two goals and two assists. Yellowstone racked up the penalties in the contest, and ended with eight minors and two majors for 46 minutes in penalty time. The Quake had been averaging 16.0 minutes in penalties per game. Yellowstone forced Bozeman goalie Romanovskis to work between the pipes, taking 47 shots. The Quake were led by Will Landsverk, who scored the team's only goal. Landsverk scored short handed 8:06 into the third period to make the score 3-1 Bozeman. Mike McCullen picked up the assist. The Icedogs registered four goals on eight power play opportunities.
