Breezy Point falls to Minnesota after surprising comeback

The Minnesota Flying Aces rallied from two goals down to secure a 3-2 win over the Breezy Point North Stars.

Minnesota never led in the game until netting the game winner. The Flying Aces trailed 2-0 after a goal by Breezy Point's Seyia Hayata at 4:40 in the second period. Minnesota knotted things up at 2-2 on a power play goal by Bradee Thompson at 8:05 in the third period. The Flying Aces netted the game winner at 18:01 in the third period on a goal by Thompson.

Minnesota got the win behind a great game by Blake Neumann, who had one goal and two assists.

The Flying Aces racked up the penalties in the contest, and ended with seven minors and three majors for 59 minutes in penalty time. Minnesota had been averaging 30.0 minutes in penalties per game. The Flying Aces forced the North Stars goalie Jaxson Gosnell to work between the pipes, taking 33 shots.

Minnesota additionally got points from Thompson, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Zachary Johnston also scored for Minnesota. Other players who recorded assists for Minnesota were Matt Heim, Travis Johnston, and Tyler Arenz, who each chipped in one.

Breezy Point was often in penalty trouble, totaling seven minors and three majors for 59 minutes in penalty time. The North Stars surpassed its season average of 28.0 penalty minutes per game. Breezy Point's offense rang up 34 shots on Minnesota's net.

Breezy Point also got a goal from Ryan Herbert as well. More assists for Breezy Point came via Jordan Carey, who had one and Jack Anderholm, who had two.
