Chavis leads Metro over Cincinnati, 6-2

Behind a great game by David Chavis, who had two goals and two assists, the Metro Jets defeated the Cincinnati Swords, 6-2.

Chavis scored at 14:30 into the first period to make the score 3-0 Metro and again while 1:27 into the second to make the score 4-0 Metro.

Metro forced Swords' netminders to work between the pipes, launching 44 shots and forcing 38 saves. James Schroeder made 25 stops and Brandon Kruger made 13. The Jets got an offensive boost from their blueliners, who contributed two goals during the game.

Metro also got points from Jake Sealy, who also registered one goal and one assist. Metro also had goals scored by Jacob Drinkard, Cody Jones, and Matt Dempsey, who each put in one. Other players who recorded assists for Metro were Alex Holm, who had two and Pearce Vance, Jacob Gleason, Andrew Sawyer, Kyle Shreve, Jason Newel, and Graham Day, who each chipped in one.

Cincinnati excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances.

The Swords were led by Brenden Williams, who grabbed one goal and one assist. Williams scored 19:37 into the third period to make the score 6-2 Metro. Jason Demczak provided the assist. Brett Mory also scored for Cincinnati. In addition, Cincinnati received assists from Hunter Schneider, who had one.

Metro's Kameron Limburg stopped 17 shots out of the 19 that he faced. The Jets incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Cincinnati incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with four minors.
