The Point Mallard Ducks almost clawed their way back from a five-goal deficit, but the Nashville Jr. Predators managed to pull out a 5-3 win in the end. Nashville led by five goals at one point and ended with the victory. The largest advantage in the game came when the Jr. Predators' Spencer Marchand scored at 8:23 in the third period to put Nashville up 5-0. The Jr. Predators got the win thanks to a great game by Jacob Lainesse, who had one goal and two assists. Lainesse scored 10:49 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Nashville. Trent Kulczyk assisted on the tally. Nashville kept Point Mallard's goalie busy throughout the game, and David Volkmann made 32 saves on 37 shots. The Jr. Predators got an offensive boost from their blueliners, who contributed two goals during the game. Nashville could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 40 minutes in penalties during the game. Nashville also got points from Rudolfs Kalvitis, who also had one goal and one assist. Nashville also had goals scored by Jon Evans and Dominic Costello, who each put in one. Other players who recorded assists for Nashville were Colton Anderson, who had two and Nickolas Tandeski, Topi Samuli Aheristo, Keegan Haines, and Kyle Van Wyk, who each chipped in one. The Ducks' offense rang up 32 shots on the Jr. Predators' net. Nashville's Nathan Klebe stopped 29 shots out of the 32 that he faced. The Jr. Predators registered two goals on five power play opportunities. Point Mallard incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors.
