Pittsburgh falls to Metro in overtime, 7-6 (OT)

The Metro Jets' Pearce Vance scored 45 seconds into overtime to beat the Pittsburgh Vengeance, 7-6 (OT).

Metro overcame a two-goal deficit to capture the victory. The Jets was down 6-4 after a goal by Pittsburgh's Cody Black at 6:18 in the third period. Metro tied things up at 6-6 on a goal by Alex Holm at 13:02 in the third period.

Vance had a great game for the Jets, netting two goals.

The Vengeance were unable to stop Metro from sending pucks towards the net, and the Jets eventually piled up 44 shots on goal. Metro surpassed its usual scoring output this season. The Jets average 3.9 goals per game. Metro's defensemen played an important role in the offense, chipping in two goals.

Metro also got points from Holm, who also registered one goal and three assists. Metro also had goals scored by Tyler Layle, Devin Kelly, TJ Krajewski, and Jason Newel, who each put in one. In addition, Metro received assists from Chris Williams, who had two and David Chavis, Evan Wilson, Jacob Gleason, Spencer Graham, and Matt Dempsey, who each chipped in one.

Pittsburgh bested its season scoring average. This season, the Vengeance average 3.4 goals per contest. Pittsburgh's defense let in more goals than it usually has this year. The Vengeance give up 2.5 goals per game.

Pittsburgh additionally got points from Bryan Hovanec, who also racked up one goal and two assists to lead the team in points, Parker Henry, who also tallied one goal and one assist, Nils Markgren, who also had one goal and one assist, and Eli Lynn, who also registered one goal and one assist. More assists for Pittsburgh came via Gavin Cummings, who had two and Leo Blore and Michael Straub, who contributed one each.

The Jets took out Stephan Wroe after he had made 14 saves and installed Kameron Limburg in goal, where he finished with six saves and the win. Metro incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Jacob Stack recorded 37 saves for Pittsburgh. The Vengeance incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
