Feese leads Gillette to shutout victory over Glacier

Alex Feese recorded a shutout against Glacier as the Gillette Wild picked up a 3-0 win.

Gillette pulled out the victory even though it was hit with 29 penalty minutes.

The Wild were paced by Mitchell McEwan, who tallied one goal and one assist. McEwan scored 3:17 into the second period to make the score 1-0 Gillette. Lance Pennington assisted on the tally.

Referees had their hands full with a major incident at 9:39 into the third period. Three fighting penalties were dished out along with two game misconducts.

Gillette's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on six Glacier power plays. The Wild's defense was surprisingly good. Gillette gives up 2.4 goals on average per game. The Wild forced Glacier goalie Ryan Lund to work between the pipes, taking 34 shots.

Gillette additionally got points from Brandon Beard, who also finished with one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Gillette also got a goal from Alex King as well. Other players who recorded assists for Gillette were Kyle Traux, Dalton McCann, and TJ McMinn, who each chipped in one.

Glacier forced Wild's goaltenders to work between the pipes, launching 34 shots and forcing 34 saves. Feese made 29 stops and Sean Kelley made five.

Gillette registered zero goals on two power play opportunities. For the Wild, McCann was ejected from the game. Glacier's Lund stopped 31 shots out of the 34 that he faced. Glacier ended with 31 minutes in penalty time with three minors and one major. Glacier ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Joshua Larson was ejected from the game.
