Bisek stymies Twin City, Alexandria wins 3-1

The Alexandria Blizzard relied on the sparkling performance of Evan Bisek in net to grab a 3-1 win against the Twin City Steel.

Alexandria was led by Aaron Ryback, who finished with one goal. Ryback scored 5:30 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Alexandria. Bo Gronseth picked up the assist.

The Blizzard put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Twin City to score on any of its three power plays. Alexandria kept the Steel's goalie busy throughout the game, and Parker Butler made 31 saves on 34 shots.

Others who scored for Alexandria included Tyler Berginski and Tyler Sworsky, who scored one goal each. In addition, Alexandria received assists from Logan Norman, Tom Schmidt, and Gavin Mindt, who contributed one each.

Twin City's offense operated below its season average. The Steel average 3.4 goals per game. Twin City forced the Blizzard goalie Bisek to work between the pipes, taking 40 shots.

The Steel were led by Russel Barone, who scored the team's only goal. Barone scored 17:54 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Jared Erickson assisted on the tally.

Bisek rejected 39 shots on goal for Alexandria. The Blizzard incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Twin City incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
