North Iowa rips Minnesota, 4-1

The North Iowa Bulls had a two-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 4-1 win over the Minnesota Flying Aces.

Minnesota was stymied by North Iowa's netminder Jordan Moran, who stopped 26 shots during the victory. The solid play of Moran will be reflected in his goals against average, which pre-game was 2.14.

The Bulls' offense rang up 43 shots on the Flying Aces' net. Team's forwards weren't the only contributers offensively, and the team's defensemen showcased their scoring touch with two goals.

North Iowa was helped by Connor Bump, who tallied two goals. Bump scored the first of his two goals at 2:03 into the second period to make the score 2-0 North Iowa. Brett Gravelle picked up the assist. Bump's next tally made the score 4-1 North Iowa with 23 seconds left in the third period. The Bulls earned a power play opportunity when AJ Gullickson was put in the box for slashing. Johnny Panvica assisted on the tally. North Iowa also got points from Trey Gardner, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Jake Mullendore also scored for North Iowa. Other players who recorded assists for North Iowa were Evan Mills, who had one and Joe Kleven and Adam Orn, who each chipped in two.

Minnesota was led by Bradee Thompson, who scored the team's only goal. Thompson scored on the power play 6:49 into the third period to make the score 3-1 North Iowa. The Flying Aces had gotten the advantage when North Iowa's Panvica was sent off for hooking. Travis Johnston picked up the assist.

The Bulls incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. Kevin OShea rejected 39 shots on goal for Minnesota. The Flying Aces incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
