In a game where neither team could get a cushion, the Helena Bighorns escaped with a 4-2 victory over the Yellowstone Quake.

No lead was more than two goals during the contest, and the winning goal was scored by Nick Trefry at 9:16 of the third period.

Helena was sparked by Elliot Hopkins, who tallied one goal. Hopkins scored 11:46 into the third period to make the score 3-1 Helena.

The Bighorns' offense rang up 33 shots on Yellowstone's net.

Others who scored for Helena included Brandt Miller and Cody Vanthournout, who scored one goal each. More assists for Helena came via Brian Skillicorn, Johnny Bonta, and Blake Babineau, who contributed one each.

The Quake kept Helena's goalie busy throughout the game, and Alex Kruger made 33 saves on 35 shots. Yellowstone did not rack up many penalties in the contest, racking up only one minor for 12 minutes in penalty time.

The Quake were helped by Mike McCullen, who registered one goal. McCullen scored 12:55 into the second period to make the score 1-1. Sawyer Scanlan provided the assist. Yellowstone also got a goal from Ross Mullen as well. In addition, Yellowstone received assists from Nick Ligocki, who had one and Josh Neumann, who had two.

The Bighorns incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Sean Leahy made 29 saves for Yellowstone on 33 shots. The Quake registered zero goals on two power play opportunities.
