Glacier wins tough contest against Bozeman, 3-2

Glacier gutted out a close 3-2 win against the Bozeman Icedogs.

Glacier gained the winning advantage on a goal by Joshua Larson 15:05 into the third period and hung on until final buzzer.

Larson was all over the ice for Glacier, as he tallied two goals and one assist in the win. Larson scored the first of his two goals at 18:17 into the second period to make the score 2-2. Matt Gamblin assisted on the tally. Larson's next tally made the score 3-2 Glacier with 4:55 left in the third period. Glacier had gained a power play chance when Cole Blatter was whistled for head contact. Gavin Lubin provided the assist.

Glacier racked up the penalties in the contest, and ended with nine minors and one major for 33 minutes in penalty time. Glacier had been averaging 23.0 minutes in penalties per game. Bozeman was unable to stop Glacier from sending pucks towards the net, and Glacier eventually piled up 50 shots on goal.

Glacier additionally got points from Gamblin, who also registered one goal and one assist.

The Icedogs forced their penalty killing units to work especially hard during the game, picking up eight minors and two majors for 46 minutes in penalty time. Bozeman surpassed its season average of 21.0 penalty minutes per game. The Icedogs kept Glacier's goalie busy throughout the game, and Ryan Lund made 39 saves on 41 shots.

Bozeman was led by Gunnar Mogck, who tallied two goals. Mogck scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 7:41 into the second period to make the score 1-1. The Icedogs earned a power play opportunity when Jarod Ackerman was put in the box for interference. Ryan Erickson assisted on the tally. Mogck's next tally on the power play made the score 2-1 Bozeman with 2:03 left in the second period. Kyler Chartier provided the assist. More assists for Bozeman came via Jake Nicks and Steven Nisbet, who each chipped in one.

Glacier registered one goal on six power play opportunities. Bozeman's Denijs Romanovskis stopped 47 shots out of the 50 that he faced. The Icedogs registered one goal on four power play opportunities.
