Yellowstone wins tough contest against Billings, 4-2Riley Arena Fri, Dec 12, 2014 Story by Narrative Science.
In a game where neither team could get a cushion, the Yellowstone Quake escaped with a 4-2 victory over the Billings Bulls. No lead was more than two goals during the contest, and the winning goal was scored by Max Doner at 12:21 of the second period. Doner had a great game for Yellowstone, netting two goals. Billings was unable to stop the Quake from sending pucks towards the net, and Yellowstone eventually piled up 54 shots on goal. Others who scored for Yellowstone included Sawyer Scanlan and Nick Ligocki, who scored one goal each. More assists for Yellowstone came via Ross Mullen, Mike McCullen, and Sean Pilet, who contributed one each and Mason Jobe and Will Landsverk, who each chipped in two. The Bulls' offense rang up 42 shots on the Quake's net. Billings was helped by TJ Theodosopoulos, who grabbed one goal. Theodosopoulos scored on the power play 7:55 into the second period to make the score 1-1. An interference penalty on Ligocki had put the Bulls on the power play. Tristan Henrichs provided the assist. Steven Thompson also scored for Billings. Other players who recorded assists for Billings were Wolfgang Davis and Nick Rizzo, who contributed one each. Lance Knudson recorded 40 saves for Yellowstone. The Quake incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Alexander Meagher made 50 saves for Billings on 54 shots. The Bulls incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
