Moyse stymies Breezy Point, Wisconsin wins 2-1

Evan Moyse had a standout game with 28 saves, and the Wisconsin Whalers beat the Breezy Point North Stars 2-1.

Wisconsin's penalty kill excelled, as the Whalers gave up zero goals despite allowing six power plays.

Wisconsin was paced by Thomas Hanson, who racked up one goal. Hanson scored on the power play 2:26 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Wisconsin. The Whalers had taken the advantage when Breezy Point's Joe Costello got sent off for high sticking. Nathan Viberg provided the assist.

Wisconsin stifled the North Stars' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Whalers kept Breezy Point's goalie busy throughout the game, and Joe Licata made 29 saves on 31 shots.

Wisconsin additionally got points from Ryan Martin, who also grabbed one goal and one assist.

The North Stars struggled to stay out of the sin bin throughout the game as they finished the game with 24 penalty minutes for four opposing power plays.

Breezy Point was led by Ryan Mezera, who scored the team's only goal. Mezera scored 3:33 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Breezy Point.

Wisconsin incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors.
