Southern Tier wins tough contest against Glacier, 6-4Schwan SR-7 Mon, Dec 08, 2014 Story by Narrative Science.
In a game where neither team could get a cushion, the Southern Tier Xpress escaped with a 6-4 victory over Glacier. No lead was more than two goals during the contest, and the winning goal was scored by Tim Weisgerber at 13:47 of the third period. With three goals and one assist between them, Justin Andriaccio and Weisgerber teamed up to power Southern Tier's offense. Andriaccio had two goals and Weisgerber also added one goal and one assist. Glacier fell victim to a deadly the Xpress power play, which ripped Glacier for four goals. Southern Tier kept Glacier's goalie busy throughout the game, and Ryan Lund made 41 saves on 47 shots. The Xpress outdid their season average for goals scored. Southern Tier has scored at the pace of 3.7 goals per game during the current campaign. The Xpress got an offensive boost from their blueliners, who contributed three goals during the game. Southern Tier could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 36 minutes in penalties during the game. Southern Tier additionally got points from Weisgerber, who also registered one goal and one assist and Tobias Gabrielsen, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Southern Tier included Brandon Desrosiers and Brian Grant, who scored one goal each. Other players who recorded assists for Southern Tier were Cody Maulsby, who had two, Elijah Williams, who had three, and Niko Greco and Victor McCutcheon, who each chipped in one. Glacier was ineffective while on the power play, as it was held to one goal off of nine man advantages. Glacier could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 66 minutes in penalties during the game. Glacier was helped by Karson Frisk, who tallied two goals. Frisk scored the first of his two goals at 18:32 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Glacier. Tyler Unekis assisted on the tally. Frisk's next tally made the score 3-1 Glacier with 14:49 left in the second period. Unekis picked up the assist. Glacier also had goals scored by Matt Gamblin and Prokofil Vladykoskiy, who each put in one. In addition, Glacier received assists from Lucas Dickison, who had one and Tyler McMahon, who had two. The Xpress took out Tyler Geloneck after he had made seven saves and installed Brendan Shuck in goal, where he finished with 10 saves and the win. Team's Frisk and Unekis were slapped with misconducts and ejected from the game.
