Kyler Patenaude recorded a shutout against the Chicago Junior Bulldogs as the West Michigan Wolves picked up a 5-0 win.

Chicago's power play was ineffective against West Michigan's penalty kill, which allowed zero goals while shorthanded.

The Wolves were led by Ian Rolfsen, who grabbed one goal. Rolfsen scored 35 seconds into the first period to make the score 1-0 West Michigan. Taylor Burdorf provided the assist.

West Michigan was often in penalty trouble, totaling 11 minors and one major for 57 minutes in penalty time. The total exceeded the 17.0 minutes per game the Wolves had been spending in the box. West Michigan excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in seven chances. The Wolves kept the Junior Bulldogs' goalie busy throughout the game, and Michael Paku made 34 saves on 39 shots.

West Michigan additionally got points from Devin Farkas, who also racked up one goal and one assist. West Michigan also got a goal from Brandon Benaglio as well. Patenaude recorded 28 saves for West Michigan. The Wolves registered one goal on nine power play opportunities. West Michigan ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Benaglio was ejected from the game. For Chicago, Niko Moulakelis was ejected from the game.
