Bozeman vanquishes Yellowstone in shootout, 3-2 (1-0 SO)

Three periods of regulation and an overtime session were not enough to settle matters as the Bozeman Icedogs defeated the Yellowstone Quake in a shootout 3-2 (1-0 SO).

The two teams needed 14 turns to complete the shootout.

Bozeman overcame a one-goal deficit to capture the victory. The Icedogs was down 2-1 after a goal by Yellowstone's Sean Pilet at 6:42 in the second period. Bozeman tied things up at 2-2 on a goal by Gunnar Mogck at 7:13 in the third period.

The Icedogs' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on four Yellowstone power plays. Bozeman's offense rang up 41 shots on the Quake's net.

Bozeman also got points from Kyler Chartier, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. In addition, Bozeman received assists from Kegan Couture, who had two.

Yellowstone excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. The Quake kept the Icedogs' goalie busy throughout the game, and Denijs Romanovskis made 42 saves on 44 shots.

Adrian Maass also scored for Yellowstone. More assists for Yellowstone came via Sawyer Scanlan, Mike McCullen, Will Landsverk, and Nick Ligocki, who contributed one each.

Bozeman incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Sean Leahy rejected 38 shots on goal for Yellowstone. The Quake incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
