Cleveland falls to Cincinnati in overtime, 4-3 (OT)

The Cincinnati Swords' Hunter Schneider scored 1:27 into overtime to beat the Cleveland Jr. Lumberjacks, 4-3 (OT).

Cincinnati came back from a three-goal deficit to capture the victory. The Swords fell behind 3-0 after a goal by Cleveland's Ryker Barber at 19:21 in the first period. Cincinnati knotted things up at 3-3 on a goal by Schneider at 8:05 in the third period.

Schneider was all over the ice for the Swords, as he tallied two goals and one assist in the win.

Cincinnati kept the Jr. Lumberjacks' goalie busy throughout the game, and Sam Pikus made 27 saves on 31 shots.

Cincinnati also got a goal from Brenden Williams as well. More assists for Cincinnati came via Andrew Bond, who had four and Gennadi Zabeline, Chris Hubbard, and Addison Collins, who contributed one each.

Cleveland forced Swords' goalies to work between the pipes, taking 32 shots and forcing 29 saves. Brandon Kruger made 20 stops and Cody Smargiassi made nine.

The Jr. Lumberjacks were helped by Tyler Dalton, who registered one goal. Dalton scored 12:05 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Cleveland. Brendan Logan assisted on the tally. Aaron Schmitt also scored for Cleveland. In addition, Cleveland received assists from Avery Huibregtse, who had two and Tyler Houmard, John Barlow, and Trey Rossbach, who each chipped in one.

The Swords incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Cleveland incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
