North Iowa erases deficit to stun Breezy Point, 3-2

Undaunted by a two-goal deficit, the North Iowa Bulls battled back to claim a 3-2 victory over the Breezy Point North Stars.

North Iowa never led in the game until netting the game winner. The Bulls trailed 2-0 after a power play goal by Breezy Point's Ryan Mezera at 18:33 in the first period. North Iowa knotted things up at 2-2 on a goal by Carmen Dalesandro at 17:10 in the second period. The Bulls netted the game winner at 18:18 in the third period on a goal by Dalesandro.

North Iowa was sparked by Joe Burgmeier, who grabbed one goal.

The Bulls forced the North Stars goalie Joe Licata to work between the pipes, taking 34 shots.

Trey Gardner also scored for North Iowa. More assists for North Iowa came via Evan Mills, Kurt Halbach, Brett Gravelle, Austin Jackson, and Dylan Zins, who each chipped in one.

Breezy Point also got a goal from Linder Kenyon as well. In addition, Breezy Point received assists from Crosby Steen, who had one and Sean Viti, who had two.

David Johnson made 26 saves for North Iowa on 28 shots. The Bulls totaled 15 minutes in penalty time with five minors and one major and went 0-for-2 on the power play. Licata rejected 31 shots on goal for Breezy Point. The North Stars incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
