Peoria outlasts St. Louis, 4-2Owens Rec Ctr Sun, Nov 16, 2014 Story by Narrative Science.
The game between the Peoria Mustangs and the St. Louis Jr. Blues was tight through all 60 minutes, but in the end Peoria emerged with a 4-2 win. Each team kept the other at bay throughout the game, and Andrew Scofield secured the win for the Mustangs with a goal in the second period. Thomas Kolaz had two goals to lead Peoria to victory. Kolaz found the back of the net 15:20 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Peoria and again while 4:26 into the second to make the score 3-1 Peoria. St. Louis was unable to stop the Mustangs from sending pucks towards the net, and Peoria eventually piled up 44 shots on goal. The Mustangs could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 38 minutes in penalties during the game. Peoria additionally got points from Chance Homerin, who also racked up one goal and one assist. In addition, Peoria received assists from Joe Power Wayvon, Kai Barber, Nathan Scofield, Jason Hoehn, Andrej Buchko, and Nathan Marlow, who contributed one each. The Jr. Blues were helped by Alex Klaesner, who grabbed one goal. Klaesner scored on the power play 1:44 into the second period to make the score 1-1. Chris Brown picked up the assist. St. Louis also got a goal from Franky Melton as well. Other players who recorded assists for St. Louis were Adam Havener, who had two. Marc Hayton rejected 19 shots on goal for Peoria. The Mustangs registered one goal on seven power play opportunities. William Hindle made 40 saves for St. Louis on 43 shots. The Jr. Blues incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with 10 minors.
