Pittsburgh survives Cleveland comeback, wins 5-3

The Pittsburgh Vengeance survived a determined comeback attempt by the Cleveland Jr. Lumberjacks on the way to a 5-3 win.

Pittsburgh made the score 4-0 on a goal by Parker Henry at 9:39 in the second period, and Cleveland got as close as 4-2 when John Barlow scored 14:40 into the third period.

The Jr. Lumberjacks were unable to stop the Vengeance from sending pucks towards the net, and Pittsburgh eventually piled up 32 shots on goal. Team's forwards weren't the only contributers offensively, and the team's defensemen showcased their scoring touch with two goals.

The Vengeance were helped by Tyler Speis, who tallied one goal. Speis scored 15:33 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Pittsburgh. Eli Lynn provided the assist. Pittsburgh additionally got points from Henry, who also registered one goal and one assist and Brennan Conway, who also had one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Others who scored for Pittsburgh included Leo Blore and Kenneth White, who each put in one. In addition, Pittsburgh received assists from Cody Black, Bryan Hovanec, Gavin Cummings, Jake Parry, and Dominick Glavach, who each chipped in one.

Cleveland also got points from Tyler Dalton, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Ryker Barber also scored for Cleveland. More assists for Cleveland came via Brendan Logan, Avery Huibregtse, Zack Mlady, and Trey Rossbach, who contributed one each.

Brian Baker recorded 21 saves for Pittsburgh. The Vengeance incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Cleveland's Alec Rounds stopped 27 shots out of the 32 that he faced. The Jr. Lumberjacks incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
