Glen Bates had a standout game with 26 saves, and the Toledo Cherokee beat the West Michigan Wolves 4-1. Toledo was led by Austin Turner, who tallied one goal. Turner scored on the power play 6:44 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Toledo. The Cherokee had taken the advantage when West Michigan's Zack Lloyd got sent off for interference. Dominic Pisanti picked up the assist. Toledo put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow the Wolves to score on any of their four power plays.
